The Didim Glee Club Unites Community with Heart-warming Pantomime

Didim, 8th December 2023, 19:00 — In a heartening display of community spirit, residents of Didim gathered to enjoy a different adaptation of the English classic folklore “Dick Whittington and his Cat,” hosted by the British expat group “The Didim Glee Club.” The production aimed to support local schools with essential educational aids.

The pantomime showcased the talents of The Didim Glee Club, a group predominantly comprised of older members. Despite some actors taking the stage for the first time, their performances were hailed as outstanding, with special mention given to the charismatic ship captain.

The two-hour-long show seamlessly blended humour for both adults and children, engaging the audience with interactive elements. Spectators eagerly participated by repeating phrases at designated moments, creating a lively atmosphere, albeit occasionally disrupted in a funny way by enthusiastic children.

The production featured various musical segments, including a soulful rendition of “Streets of London” played on guitar.
